It’s often said that QB’s taken high in the draft are given every possible chance to prove themselves as the franchise hopes against hope that they didn’t make a huge error, but it looks like the WFT have finally given up on Dwayne Haskins.
The QB was touted as the future of the franchise when he was drafted with the 15th overall pick in the 2019 draft, but there have been plenty of issues which suggested he wasn’t going to work out.
He hasn’t exactly lit it up when he does play and he suffered the ultimate embarrassment of being benched for Taylor Heinicke in their last game, but his play deserved it.

He’s been accused of attitude problems over his short NFL career which culminated in a party with some maskless strippers after a recent defeat which didn’t go down well, so the WFT have decided to simply take the hit and release him:

It’s a tough one to take but they also deserve credit for being brave enough to simply bite the bullet instead of hurting themselves for years to come by trying to make it work, but it will be interesting to see where Haskins goes from here.
He immediately faces a situation where it could be tough to simply resurrect his career after the negative press and tape that he’s amassed, so he needs to hope that he’s picked up and given a proper second chance to impress.
